I have observed something under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is always decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time. Ecclesiastes 9 : 11 New Living Translation

Many a time, we pick a career, course of study, wife, friends and so on based on what people around us or circumstances around us dictate  without taking any consideration to what GOD is saying about what, where and how we should go about it. It is sad, because many end up regretting these so called decisions. Whenever you efficiently do what you are not supposed to do in the first instance, you end up being FRUSTRATED no matter the effort, energy and time you invest in the so called endeavor.

The bible passage above clearly talks about “…being in the right place at the right time.” Many are actually spending the whole of their lifetime cultivating other people’s field. Fulfillment only comes when you do what you are cut out to do regardless of how you feel or think at the beginning. Imagine me spending all my energy and time doing my neighbor’s job and expecting to be paid? Impossible! Who will do the paying when it is not my job in the first place meaning when you do other peoples job, you either don’t get paid or you will get paid with attendant frustration.

What am I saying in this short piece? Locate what you are cut out to do early in life and pursue it with all your energy. That is where your blessing and prosperity is tied. Isaac wanted to move to Egypt just like his father Abraham when the condition of the land looked bad. Hear what the Almighty told him: “Stay in the land”. His blessing was tied to his location, “The Land”. All he needed to do was to stay and cultivate and what happened? He reaped hundred fold in the selfsame land where there was rampaging FAMINE. What am I trying to tell my fellow young people out there; you don’t need to follow the foot step of your parents or anybody else for that matter but locate what you are specifically cut out for in God. Don’t try to be a copycat because all you can be as a copycat is second best. Be the best God made you to be by locating the assignment He has written your name on.

And for those that cannot find fulfillment in whatsoever they are doing. Deuteronomy  1 and 2 states that “…you have stayed too long on this mountain and the Lord ask you to move out towards the north”. It is not too late to start again. You can dream again and dream right. Don’t encamp where you are if you are dissatisfied; there are still mountains to conquer, and mouthwatering dreams to bring to pass.

In conclusion, allow God to lead you in your decision making and you will never regret it because God has the manual for your life in his hands and His thought toward you are thoughts of good and to give you an expected end another version says to give a future and a hope.

  1. A nice one, it is important for one to keep improving on one’s field, rather than be deceived by cheap praises and accolades…
