FAITH SERIES :
FAITH IS SUBSTANCE
Heb. 11:1 Faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen.
The subject of faith is introduced to us in the 11th chapter of Hebrews by stating categorically the true nature of faith: Faith is (the) substance!
Faith is not some abstract emotion conjured up by mental conditioning through rote or confession.
Rather, faith is the ‘expression’ of a deep rooted believe in the revelation of God’s promises and commandments through His word.
Note the word ‘expression’ which indicates that faith is seen, it is an action, a physical manifestation or representation of what is hoped for or expected. James put it more succinctly
…I will show you my faith by my works (by what I do) … Faith without works is dead. James 2:18, 20 Emphasis mine
In other words, by your faith (actions), I will know what you hope for, it is these ‘Word inspired’ actions that translate our desires from mere wishes to reality.
Furthermore, without faith, it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6), God is pleased when His children express their love for Him by obeying His word.
What are you trusting God for today and it seems like its not going to happen, I want to charge you to get down to work, create the atmosphere for the manifestation of what you are expecting. Are you trusting God for a car, go ahead and clean up the garage or create a parking space for it in your house or you are trusting God for the fruit of the womb? Then create a room in your house for the baby, buy baby things etc and I can assure you that you will sing a new song of testimony not many days hence.

Every saturday by the grace of God, we will be looking at Faith series from different perspective and hopefully different writers. This is just the beginning.
