After watching “Evil Dead” some days ago, something popped up in my mind. This same ‘something’ keeps roaming on and off in my mind.
The demonised and possessed person has a way of getting the attention of the prey by playing on his or her emotion. In all the horror films I have watched, it is a continuous ploy employed by the demoniac. Luring the unsuspecting victim in the voice and visage of a family member and when their emotion is stirred up to the extent of dulling their rational senses, it moves in for the kill.
Whenever you want to make a decision, you are supposed to put aside feelings and emotion because it has a way of making you take the “wrongest” decision based on mundane and inane warped emotion. Major decisions of life are rather made with all the senses rightly utilised.
Don’t ever allow sentiment blur the lines when making decision friends. Best decisions are always difficult to make but are best made when all the senses are exercised.
Who to marry, where to live , which offer to take in the midst of offers, which course to study etc are all decisions that must be made with clear mind un-clouded by emotion.
In the film, the demonic being over and over again employed clouding the judgement of its prey with familial emotion.
Master your emotions. Don’t allow your emotions to master you so as to guide against making spur of the moment decisions which you may later come to rue.
Like the maxim, “don’t drink and drink”, when you are emotional (emotionally unbalanced), don’t make decision and when you are making decision, don’t be emotional.
