Faith Series

Special thanks to Tom Ekpo (@Tomidek) for going out of his within short notice to make this possible, you are appreciated sir.

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

Mark 9 : 23 – 24 NKJV

Friends it’s another Saturday and we will be looking at a foundational truth about our faith walk.

We are used to mouthing so much about how much we believe but when it actually comes to putting our believe to work, we disappear. Walking the talk is what makes the christian walk/talk count.

Like the man in the scripture above, he said “Lord I believe but help my unbelief”, we mouth our believe but wallop in the ocean of unbelief that is infested with the hydra-headed monster of doubt, fear, sense knowledge reality, etc.

We all believe the Lord is our healer but many a times our believe is cerebral, only in the mental realm. Like someone once said, the distance between our head (brain) and our heart (spirit) is the longest distance ever possible. Until we rise to the challenge of translating our cerebral knowledge to experiential knowledge, then we are far away from believing.

Receive the word in your spirit, transport it through your renewed mind and then get your body to ACT! In order words, meditate on the word and consciously practise what you believe. Remove them from the memory bank into the action realm. Make the word of God move from the seeing and hearing realms to actual acting on it, just like John said “that which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our HANDS HAVE HANDLED, concerning the word of life we proclaim”(1 John 1 verse 1). When we do this, we will begin to see results.

Every time I had acted in faith, I have discovered that fear, doubt and unbelief were always lurking around the corner, but I had to rise above the prevailing murky waters harbouring these deadly elements that are anti-faith to consciously walk in line with my believe in the word of God. Friend, you need to do same by rising above the prevailing negative circumstances and anti-word of God situations around you to act on your believe. Take a step above the realm of sense knowledge to the realm of walking by faith (handling the word of God).

Until you act on the things you said you believed, you really don’t believe! Acts 1 verse 1 says “…of all that Jesus begin to DO and to teach”.

The question is once again is, “do you really believe?”

Join the LA family where we study and live by the word. You will never regret it.

  1. Yes, faith is very powerful. The first step is to believe, to have faith and then taking action. Because action is the real proof of Desire. 1 Corinthians 16:13 says: Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
