7 LAWS OF BREAKTHROUGH (6)
A quick recap again before we progress; Law 1-Persistence, 2-Courage, 3-Faith, 4-Time, 5-Chance. Here we are, the 6th law of breakthrough-the law of PLACEMENT.
The summary of this law is that breakthrough is place bound, by that I mean that location is a determining factor in getting that “big hit” you are looking for. It matters not only what you do and how you do it, it matters also where you do it. Consider the fact that every living thing requires oxygen for its sustenance and that water contains less oxygen than air yet the fish lives longer in water than in air. The truth is that fish was made for water or water for fish, whichever way you see it but that’s just its place. In water, the ingenuity of fish comes alive (inside water).
You will find this to be true for not just fish and plants but man. Everyman has his place/ field; somewhere you can apply little or no effort yet get great results. The hardship most people face can be traced to this one thing-displacement, the scripture says “as a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place” –Prov. 27:8. In the midst of an economic recession, Isaac would have left for the lucrative land of Egypt but somehow he obeyed God in staying in Gerar- his place. By so doing the scripture tells us “then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year a hundred fold: and the Lord blessed him and the man waxed great, and went forward and grew until he became very great”-Gen. 26:12-13. You too can accomplish such supernatural feat if you will locate your place. In your place, things just fall in place.
Even the ravenous raven can be made to feed you provided you are in your place.
This law of placement talks of not just physical location but your field of work. That word “Gerar” actually means “circle” “region” or “field”. There is a particular field you are especially wired for, when you are in that field or circle, you function as fish in water- that’s your place. For some its business, for others it’s singing, for some others its sporting. What is your field? What is your place? Consider this proverb “seest a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men” Proverb 22: 29. My emphasis is not on diligence as you suppose (you have heard so much of that, haven’t you?), my emphasis is on IN HIS BUSINESS. Hard work is good don’t get me wrong but I prefer right work.
It is when diligence meets with right placement that breakthrough results. IN HIS BUSINESS implies your field; your place. My people have a saying that goes thus “if you think the monkey is skillful, take him far from the trees”. In the forest, the monkeys can jump here and there even with their eyes closed but outside the forest, they are reduced to walking. It’s still the same monkey don’t forget but a different place. In fact it has been proved that the longer any being including man stays outside its natural habitat the shorter its life span!
The big question is: are you in your place? Are you in your field? I’ll return again next week for the last law until then bye-bye.
