In my little stay on this terra firma, I have come to the conclusion that a man without priority is a rudderless man. We all have twenty-four each day. How much you achieve in that period is a function of how you are able to prioritize. You cannot be a jack of all trade and expect productivity and efficiency of a focused person.
When you are not focused, your mind will be jumbled. A man that is focused is blind to distractions. Wake up each day with a goal of what needed to be achieved. Come up with an action plan for what needed to be done to bring you to achieving your aim and goal.
Train yourself to have long-term, middle term and short-term goal. Then you can then begin to plan to achieve your goals progressively. It is when you have well-defined goals that the power of priority begins to come into place. Priority like Bruce Lee said is “It is not a daily increase, but a daily decrease. Hack away at the inessentials.” When the goal is defined, then it will be easy to hack away all the unnecessary.
There are things we do daily that needed hacking away. Things that do not add to you nor move you closer to achieving significance should as a matter of urgency be hacked off your daily routine. To be an effective and efficient person, you and I needed to drop some excess baggage. These weights that slow us down on the journey to greatness.
To be effective and efficient, priority is a must and goal setting a prerequisite. What you want to become is measured but the daily routine you follow. Are you prioritizing your goals? Are consciously working towards achieving the things you set out to achieve? Start today by prioritizing the things you do.
